Visit to Boehringer Ingelheim
On September 18, 2025, the our RTG2816 had the opportunity to visit Boehringer Ingelheim Pharma GmbH & Co. KG. The visit offered a fascinating glimpse into the dynamic world of translational and industrial research and provided an inspiring platform for exchange between academia and industry.
The day began with a warm welcome and an introduction to Boehringer Ingelheim’s research focus areas, followed by an insightful presentation on postdoctoral life in cardio-renal-metabolic disease research. During a guided tour of the Center for Human Pharmacology, participants gained a close-up view of how clinical and experimental research come together to drive innovation.
A particular highlight was the joint lunch, which provided the chance for informal discussions with Boehringer Ingelheim’s own doctoral researchers. Engaging conversations over a fantastic meal created an open and collegial atmosphere, fostering new perspectives on research careers in industry.
In the afternoon, a lively Q&A session with Human Resources experts shed light on diverse career paths and opportunities for young scientists.
